Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Cardiothoracic Wound Care Specialist to join our team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. This role focuses on wound care management for patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgeries, working closely with surgeons, patients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective wound healing and promote optimal recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Wound Care Management: Provide comprehensive wound care to patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgeries and other related procedures.
  2. Assessment and Intervention: Perform detailed assessments of surgical wounds, ensuring early identification of potential complications and collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  3. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on proper wound care at home, including infection prevention and signs of complications.
  4. Support and Reassurance: Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during their recovery process.
  5. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cardiothoracic wound care techniques and products.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • NMC Registration as a Nurse or Midwife
  • Relevant experience in a cardiothoracic surgery and wound care setting
  • Compassionate, detail-oriented, and proactive in patient care
