Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton, United Kingdom The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Full time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled clinical pharmacist to lead our cardiology and cardiothoracic service at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert pharmaceutical advice and guidance in this state-of-the-art unit.

The ideal candidate will have substantial post-registration experience, recent experience working as an independent prescriber, and experience supervising staff. You will also possess a strong working knowledge of cardiac medicine and significant experience working as a senior clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting.

In this role, you will lead the provision and development of clinical pharmacy services to the cardiology and cardiothoracic directorates, including clinical, governance, and operational functions. You will work independently and collaboratively with consultant and nursing teams to support safe and appropriate prescribing.

The successful candidate will be joining a large and progressive pharmacy department that delivers near-patient ward pharmacy services, has automated dispensing, electronic medicines management, and electronic prescribing across most of the organisation. The department has close links with local universities and is actively involved in teaching undergraduate students and learning beyond registration.
