Housing Options Officer – Rough Sleeper Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Housing Options Officer, providing housing advice and support to individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team, providing a range of services to support individuals who are experiencing homelessness. As a Housing Options Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing housing advice and support to individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping, including assessing their needs and developing personalized plans to help them find a lasting solution to their housing situation.
  • Collaborating with residents, other services, and colleagues to help individuals find a lasting solution to their housing problem, including working with local authorities, housing providers, and other stakeholders to secure accommodation and support.
  • Understanding homelessness prevention and support, and proactively working to prevent housing crises by identifying and addressing the root causes of homelessness.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with individuals who are experiencing homelessness, including those who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with individuals, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of homelessness prevention and support, including an understanding of the root causes of homelessness and the services and support available to individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
