Housing Options Specialist

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Housing Options Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Housing Options team, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of residents by preventing homelessness and providing person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Specialist Advice: Offer expert guidance on housing options and homeless prevention initiatives to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage Caseload: Oversee a portfolio of housing applications, conducting thorough assessments and making informed decisions on eligibility, housing need, and support.
- Lead on Complex Cases: Act as the housing lead in cases involving domestic abuse, child protection, and adult safeguarding, ensuring the highest level of support and care.
- Promote Homelessness Prevention: Collaborate with housing providers and stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that prevent homelessness and promote sustainable housing solutions.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records, produce comprehensive reports, and provide evidence for legal cases as required.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations and participate in the Housing Options Duty Rota, delivering exceptional customer service through various communication channels.
- Qualifications: Hold a Level 4 Diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Possess significant experience providing customer service and professional advice in housing or a relevant sector.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle conflict and challenging behaviours.
- Knowledge and Skills: Have a thorough understanding of housing and homelessness legislation, as well as homelessness prevention techniques.
- Flexibility: Be willing to participate in a 24-hour call-out rota and travel across the local area.
- Security Clearance: Hold an Enhanced DBS check.
- Commitment to Diversity: Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equality, and safeguarding.
