About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our team at Holroyd Howe. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional food experiences to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in food preparation, production, and service, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen assistants, promoting a culture of food safety and sanitation.
  • Contribute to menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events and themed dinners.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to enhance menu offerings.
  • Foster a positive working environment, demonstrating leadership qualities and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
