Job Title: Commis Chef

We are seeking a skilled Commis Chef to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh and innovative food services to independent schools and colleges.

The successful candidate will have a background in exceptional food catering services and a passion for creating flavourful dishes that nourish both body and mind.

As a Commis Chef, you will collaborate with our culinary team to craft menus that meet the company's standards and client expectations.

You will assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service, ensuring the quality and presentation of all dishes meet the company's standards.

Additionally, you will supervise and train kitchen assistants, maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, and stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in food preparation, production, and service.
  • Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet the company's standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen assistants.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
