Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Dementia Support Volunteer at our Bristol Dementia Meeting Centre. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting people living with dementia and their care partners to enjoy sessions and develop a warm and friendly meeting centre community.

About the Role:

  • You will welcome members and help staff set up and carry out activities.
  • You will offer a friendly face and listening ear, making and serving refreshments, and supporting people on trips and at events.
  • You will give people information about other services and help clear away after sessions.

Requirements:

  • You feel comfortable being with older people, some of whom have mild to moderate dementia.
  • You are willing to learn about dementia and attend Alive's dementia training and other relevant training.
  • You agree to an enhanced DBS check and let the Meeting Centre Manager know beforehand if you are not able to attend the session.
