About the Role

Vision for Education - Preston is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teacher to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis. As a SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and nurturing classroom environment that fosters academic progress, emotional well-being, and positive behavior.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to develop individualised Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and implement strategies for student progress.
  • Establish strong communication channels with parents, guardians, and external professionals involved in the care and education of students with SEMH needs.
  • Stay updated with the latest educational practices, policies, and developments in the field of special educational needs, integrating them into your teaching approach.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Specialisation or experience in teaching students with SEMH learning needs in a mainstream or specialist environment.
  • Deep understanding of moderate learning difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of different teaching strategies, interventions, and resources for SEND students.
