Job Title: Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide highly specialist speech and language therapy services to patients with complex communication needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify communication disorders and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide training and education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication strategies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures related to speech and language therapy.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Recognized Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent.
  • Health Care Professions Council - Licence to Practice.
  • Substantial experience at specialist level.
  • Relevant experience with transferable skills appropriate to area of clinical expertise.
  • Experience of developing and delivering training.
  • NHS/UK healthcare experience.

Working Arrangements:

This is a permanent full-time post, working Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend work on an ad hoc basis.
