Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Neuro and Stroke Team. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with neurological conditions, including stroke, acquired brain injury, and progressive neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in individuals with neurological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing skills.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and training to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies related to communication and swallowing disorders.

Requirements:

  • Recognized SLT degree or equivalent.
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) - Licence to Practice.
  • Registered member of RCSLT.
  • Experience of working with individuals with neurological conditions, including stroke, acquired brain injury, and progressive neurological disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
