Senior Nuclear Safety Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for providing safety case support throughout the design life of a facility and/or operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
- Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
- Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate 'Right First Time' delivery.
- Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis.
- Producing safety reports and other technical documents.
Requirements
- Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
- Chartered (or working towards Chartership status).
- Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.
- Excellent written skills, and an eye for detail that means you can produce and review high-quality technical reports.
- Demonstratable evidence of being a leader of technical teams and development of more junior staff.
- Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
- Awareness of their own technical limitations and using the help and support of others to deliver.
- Must be eligible to obtain an appropriate level of Security Clearance.
