Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Characterisation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Characterisation Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our decommissioning projects worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement characterisation strategies for radioactive and non-radioactive waste materials.
  • Work across various projects, locations, and departments to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.
  • Support business development and related tasks, such as strategic decision-making and bid preparation.
  • Manage packages of work, interfacing with commercial managers to support delivery, and lead or support team members in sharing knowledge and experience.
Requirements:
  • Experience in applying the characterisation process (e.g., DQO) for radioactive and non-radioactive waste materials.
  • Knowledge of radiochemical analysis, radiological fingerprints, radiometric instrumentation, or activity assessment methodologies.
  • Understanding of radioactive and non-radioactive waste management legislation and guidance.
  • Experience working on a nuclear licensed site in waste or characterisation positions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to build and develop relationships internally and externally.
