About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Characterisation Engineer to join our Decommissioning and Waste Management team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of nuclear decommissioning and waste management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement characterisation strategies for radioactive and non-radioactive waste materials
  • Work closely with multi-discipline teams to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions
  • Support business development and related tasks, including strategic decision-making and bid preparation
  • Take ownership of management packages and lead or support team members in knowledge sharing and training

Requirements

  • Experience in the application of characterisation processes for radioactive and non-radioactive waste materials
  • Knowledge of radiochemical analysis, radiological fingerprints, and radiometric instrumentation
  • Understanding of radioactive and non-radioactive waste management legislation and guidance
  • Experience working on nuclear licensed sites in waste or characterisation positions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility, with a willingness to travel
