Established as one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching Trusts, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust offers an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Rheumatology Pharmacy Specialist to join their dedicated pharmacy team. This role has been established to support the expansion of the Rheumatology Pharmacy team, working closely with the Principal Pharmacist for Planned Medicine and Rheumatology MDT to develop outpatient clinics and streamline processes for initiating and maintaining patients on biologics.

The successful candidate will provide pharmacist-led clinics, lead a Virtual Biologics Clinic for patients initiating new therapies, and ensure that Medicines Optimisation opportunities are realised. As part of this role, they will also play an active part in developing and monitoring treatment pathways with colleagues across South East London.

This position presents ample opportunity for the successful candidate to expand their portfolio, including through involvement in service development, research, audit, and quality improvement projects. The Clinical Rheumatology Pharmacy Specialist will work as part of a dedicated pharmacy team to lead, provide, and develop specialist clinical pharmacy services to Rheumatology.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • To act as a specialist role model and expert in medical management within Rheumatology;
  • To lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist;
  • To participate regularly in outpatient clinics to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care;
  • To actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, delivering and promoting high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care;
  • To promote safe drug use within the Rheumatology specialty;
  • To develop, implement, and audit local guidelines;
  • To conduct regular financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, as well as drug budget management;
  • To participate in practice and clinical research and audit;
  • To be registered as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits.

This is a permanent full-time role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, plus 7-day working in line with departmental policies. Located at King's College Hospital, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package and professional development opportunities.
