About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our Rheumatology team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Pharmacist for Planned Medicine and Rheumatology MDT to establish outpatient clinics, develop, and streamline processes for initiating and maintaining patients on biologics. They will provide pharmacist-led clinics, lead a Virtual Biologics Clinic for patients initiating new therapies, and ensure that Medicines Optimisation opportunities are realised.

Main Duties
  • Act as a specialist role model and an expert in the medical management within Rheumatology.
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist.
  • Participate regularly in outpatient clinics to deliver and promote high quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, delivering and promoting high quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
  • Promote safe drug use within the Rheumatology specialty.
  • Development, implementation, and audit of local guidelines.
  • Regular financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, and drug budget management.
  • To participate in practice and clinical research and audit.

Requirements
  • MPharm (Masters Degree)
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete
  • Member of the RPS faculty
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £61,927 - £68,676 per annum inclusive of HCA, and includes a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
