Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist Lead to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking pharmacist to lead the Planned Medicine team on a fixed term basis (12 months). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the pharmacy service to outpatient specialties including Allergy, Immunology, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Diabetes, and Endocrine.

Main Duties
  • Lead a team of specialist pharmacists to develop and implement national guidance for patient care.
  • Ensure the infrastructure is in place for safe prescribing and monitoring of specialist drugs.
  • Work with colleagues within the Care Group and across the interface to develop, implement, and monitor treatment pathways for high-cost drugs.
  • Drive quality improvement and implement cost-saving plans such as biosimilar switches.

The post holder will play an active role in developing and monitoring treatment pathways with colleagues across South East London, offering excellent opportunities for networking. Experience of service development and managing a team of specialist pharmacists working across four hospital sites is essential.
