About This Opportunity

Folkestone Girls' School is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. As a member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

This apprenticeship programme is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a teaching assistant role. You will receive comprehensive training and support, enabling you to develop your expertise and advance your career.

The successful candidate will possess a strong passion for working with children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs. They will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.

The apprenticeship structure includes:

  • 22 months duration
  • 6 hours per week of blended learning, combining online sessions and off-site training at Leigh Academies Trust locations, during term time
  • End Point Assessment (EPA):
    • Build a portfolio throughout the course
    • 90-minute classroom observation
    • 90-minute professional discussion, focused on the knowledge and behaviours of a Teaching Assistant

The annual salary for this role is £26,500, providing a competitive remuneration package that reflects the importance of this position.
