Job Overview:

The Nationalmuseums is seeking a highly skilled Volunteer Programme Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive volunteer programme that aligns with the museum's strategic goals.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of a thriving volunteer programme that enhances the visitor experience at the Churchill War Rooms, HMS Belfast, and Lambeth Road sites. You will work closely with the Head of Volunteering & Engagement to drive the delivery and development of all services at these sites.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective volunteer recruitment campaigns to increase participation and engagement.
  • Design and deliver training programmes for Volunteer Line Managers to ensure they are fully trained and prepared for their roles.
  • Build and sustain relationships with local organizations, community venues, heritage partners, and projects to support volunteer recruitment.
  • Take responsibility for the effective management and leadership of the Volunteer Team Leaders, including facilitating professional development and appraisals.

About You:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional with excellent leadership and communication skills. You should have a strong background in volunteer management and programme development, with a proven track record of delivering successful initiatives.
