About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Look Ahead Care Support and Housing. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our customers to maintain their mental wellbeing and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusting relationships with customers and create a positive atmosphere in the home.
  • Support customers with daily living activities, including practical assistance with tasks such as cleaning and cooking.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to customers who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
  • Develop and maintain links with local agencies and service providers to ensure customers receive the support they need.
  • Proactively manage health and safety on a daily basis for self, colleagues, and customers.
About You

We are looking for someone who is approachable, open-minded, and able to work as part of a team. You will have a practical and logical mind, be naturally well-organized, and have a flexible approach to work.

Essential qualifications include up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, or experience in the social care/charity sector. Desirable qualifications include experience working in mental health, CQC registered care settings, or delivering personal care/assistance.
