About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our Safe Space team as a Crisis Support Specialist. In this role, you will provide person-centered support to individuals experiencing mental health crisis, working collaboratively to develop crisis support packages and promote recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a recovery-oriented approach to crisis support, promoting empowerment and self-management.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored crisis support plans.
  • Listen actively and provide emotional support to clients, encouraging positive steps towards recovery.
  • Recognize indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, liaising with relevant agencies as needed.
  • Establish supportive relationships with clients and carers, promoting a culture of respect and dignity.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in mental health services, with a focus on crisis support and intervention.
  • Experience managing challenging behavior and dealing with clients with complex needs.
  • Understanding of the Recovery Model and principles of trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
