About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Crisis Support Worker to join our team at Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind. As a key member of our crisis alternative service, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Crisis Support: Offer practical and emotional support to individuals in crisis, working collaboratively to develop flexible and realistic crisis support packages.
  • De-escalate Crisis Situations: Proactively recognize indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, liaising with relevant agencies as needed.
  • Build Trusting Relationships: Establish supportive, empowering, and respectful relationships with clients and carers/family members.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Best Practices: Continuously develop your knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and recovery models.
Requirements
  • Experience in Mental Health Services: Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services, with experience in managing challenging behavior and dealing with clients with complex needs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
  • Compassion and Empathy: A genuine passion for supporting individuals in crisis, with a strong commitment to promoting mental wellbeing and recovery.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Evidence of ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new approaches and best practices.
