About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Therapy Assistant to join our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team in the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Wards at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting qualified professionals in gathering subjective information from patients and relatives about social history.
  • Assisting with assessments and delivering care independently as delegated, including delivering exercise programmes, issuing walking aids or other ADL aids, stair assessments, toilet/bed transfers, etc.
  • Treating patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required, and reporting back to the Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist regarding patient progress and any problems.
  • Providing excellent patient care and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Experience of working with people in some capacity.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Good communication skills and ability to prioritise work.
  • Computer skills are essential - training in local systems will be provided.
