About the Role

\

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team on a long-term opportunity at a welcoming special school catering for children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autism. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support for a Key Stage 4 child with Autism as a primary diagnosis, working on a 1-2-1 basis in class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to a Key Stage 4 child with Autism, assisting them in overcoming educational barriers.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop strategies for supporting the child's needs.
  • Manage classroom attitudes effectively, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with various special educational needs, ensuring effective support for the child.

Requirements

\
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
