Senior Specialist Biomedical Scientist Haematology Training Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Training Lead in Haematology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the training and competency assessment of new and current Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, and MLA staff in Blood Sciences.
Main DutiesThe post-holder will be required to efficiently manage the training and competency assessment of staff, be responsible for the documentation and management of electronic training records, and implement training programs for all grades of staff. You will also provide continued professional development opportunities for both registered and non-registered technical staff, audit and assess the compliance of staff in line with regulatory body expectations, and maintain the training status of the Blood Transfusion and Haematology laboratory in line with the IBMS standards.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Biomedical Science, preferably with a Master's degree or IBMS Special Examination (Fellowship). You should have a minimum of 5 years of post-HCPC registration experience in diagnostic Haematology and Blood Transfusion. You should also have experience of effectively managing staff, teaching staff, and knowledge of current requirements for training and career progression for biomedical scientists and MLAs.
Key SkillsWe are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively as part of a team and manage competing priorities. You should have a strong understanding of quality management systems, health and safety legislation, and governance requirements. You should also be able to analyse, interpret, and present data/results/concepts and deliver training in multiple formats.
