Nuclear Material Control Technician Role Overview

AWE plc is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Material Control Technician to join our team in Aldermaston. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe handling, storage, and transportation of nuclear materials.

This role offers a competitive salary of £27,500 - £31,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a 9-day working fortnight, generous annual leave, and access to professional development opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Ensuring compliance with procedures for processing, movement, and storage of nuclear materials
  2. Assisting the Accountable Nuclear Materials Inventory Holder with duties as outlined in the Nuclear Material Accountancy & Control manual
  3. Operating nuclear materials accountancy systems and assisting with key accountancy reports
In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work methodically to prescriptive instructions. A high level of standard education in Maths and English, minimum GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent, is also required.
