AWE plc is currently recruiting for a Nuclear Material Control Technician to join our Operations function in Aldermaston. As a Nuclear Material Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe handling, storage, and transportation of nuclear materials. This includes ensuring all processing, movements, and storage are carried out in accordance with procedures, assisting the Accountable Nuclear Materials Inventory Holder with duties as outlined in the Nuclear Material Accountancy & Control manual, and operating nuclear materials accountancy systems to assist with key accountancy reports.

The successful candidate will have experience working in operational, controlled high hazard and highly regulated environments, with a good understanding of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel. You will also need to possess a high level of standard education in Maths and English, minimum GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent, and a basic understanding of health and safety practice.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Complying with and promoting high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality
  2. Preparing to undertake shift work if required
