About the Job

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time permanent post in the Radiotherapy Support Workers Team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. The successful candidate will be based at our Centre in Liverpool and will be required to cross-cover sites to meet the needs of the service.

Main Responsibilities

  • To assist all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in the radiotherapy department to provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective service.
  • To perform clinical and clerical duties, providing hands-on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their carers.
  • To prepare and run assigned weekly treatment review clinics and phlebotomy.
  • To work closely with the radiotherapy team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient care.

About the Role

The role of a Radiotherapy Support Worker is to provide support to patients and the radiographers within the radiotherapy department. This is a diverse role with clinical and clerical aspects, requiring a caring, empathetic and enthusiastic team worker.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic general education to GCSE level
  • NVQ 3
  • Computer literate with general IT skills
  • Working in a care setting with direct patient care experience
