Consultant Physician in Elderly Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant Physician in Elderly Care to join our dynamic team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Elderly Care department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of innovative models of care for frail elderly people in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patients admitted to the Elderly Care ward, including those requiring acute frailty assessment and management.
- Participate in the Acute Frailty On-call service, working closely with other consultants to ensure seamless patient care.
- Contribute to the development of new pathways of care in the community, including the establishment of an Acute Frailty Unit in a nearby Community Hospital.
- Collaborate with existing community teams to proactively assess and manage frail individuals in the community.
- Participate in teaching, research, and governance programs within the department, including the opportunity to present at international conferences.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- An appropriate higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent).
- GMC registration with a Licence to practice.
- On Specialist Register for Geriatrics/General Medicine or applying for CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration).
- UK-based experience in Geriatrics at middle grade level or above.
- CCT or equivalent in Elderly Care and General Medicine or within 6 months of CCT date at time of interview.
