Locum Consultant Physician in Elderly Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Locum Consultant Physician in Elderly Care to join our dynamic team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Elderly Care department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of innovative pathways for acute frailty assessment and management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to patients admitted to the Elderly Care ward, including those with acute frailty, falls, and general medical conditions.
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and improve patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement new models of care for frail elderly people in the community, including Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (F-SDEC) and Rapid Access Clinics.
- Participate in teaching, research, and governance programs within the department, including the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Contribute to the development of the department's strategic plan and contribute to the implementation of new initiatives.
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- An appropriate higher degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent).
- GMC with a Licence to practice.
- On Specialist Register for Geriatrics/General Medicine or applying for CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration).
- UK-based experience in Geriatrics at middle grade level or above.
- CCT or equivalent in Elderly Care and General Medicine or within 6 months of CCT date at time of interview.
