**Job Title:** Independent Scrutineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Independent Scrutineer. As a key member of our safeguarding partnership, you will play a vital role in scrutinising our local safeguarding arrangements and providing independent oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To conduct thorough scrutiny of our safeguarding systems and arrangements, ensuring they are effective and meet statutory requirements.
  • To provide expert analysis and recommendations on how we can improve our safeguarding practices and enhance the well-being of children in our community.
  • To work collaboratively with our safeguarding partners, including North Somerset Council, Avon & Somerset Constabulary, and BNSSG Integrated Care Board, to ensure seamless coordination and information sharing.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in safeguarding or a related field, with experience in leadership and quality assurance.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The confidence to challenge practices and hold agencies to account, while maintaining a culture of openness and trustworthiness.
