We are seeking a highly skilled Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our Pupil Referral Unit in Southwark. As a DSL, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our pupils, providing expert advice and training to staff, and maintaining meticulous records.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring all policies and procedures are rigorously implemented.
  2. Support staff in identifying and managing child protection issues, providing expert advice and training.
  3. Work collaboratively with external agencies, including social care, health, and the police, to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  4. Maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements.
  5. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff, fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity.

Requirements:

  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection, ideally within an educational or alternative provision setting.
  • Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Skilled in building relationships and confident working with multi-agency teams.
  • Familiar with statutory safeguarding frameworks and best practices.

Salary: £30,300 per annum (based on 5 hours per week), plus competitive benefits package.
