We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Editorial Director to join our team at Penguin Books Limited. As a key member of our editorial department, you will be responsible for acquiring and developing new children's book titles, working closely with authors, illustrators, and agents to create best-selling books.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire and develop new children's book titles, including picture books, novelty series, and non-fiction books
- Work closely with authors, illustrators, and agents to create high-quality books that meet our publishing goals
- Collaborate with our design and production teams to bring new titles to market
- Manage a team of editorial staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation
- Proven track record of acquiring and developing successful children's book titles
- Excellent knowledge of the children's book market, including trends, genres, and audience preferences
- Strong relationships with authors, illustrators, and agents, with a proven ability to negotiate and secure top talent
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of managing a team, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff
