Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Finning International. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive field repair and service solutions to our customers, utilizing your expertise in heavy plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer service requests, diagnosing and resolving mechanical or electrical issues with heavy plant equipment in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Utilize industry-leading field service software and repair techniques to provide high-quality service solutions.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Collaborate with the branch team to provide estimates of arrival time at customer sites and requisition parts as needed.
  • Undertake repair and service work on heavy plant equipment, removing and despatching components for specialist attention and re-installing the original or replacement.
Requirements
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment, as well as heavy earth moving equipment operating knowledge.
  • LDV driving license and experience of a variety of construction and static machines.
  • Apprentice-trained engineer or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of plant equipment and customer service principles.
