Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Medical Respiratory Team at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in assessing and treating patients with respiratory conditions, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely discharges.

About the Role

This is a developmental role that offers a fantastic opportunity to enhance your career and personal development. You will work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff to provide clinical specialist support, protected non-clinical SPA time, active involvement in service development, regular clinical supervision, and joint working and direct observations of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized physiotherapy skills within the inpatient service to ensure safe, efficient, and effective patient care aligned with evidence-based practices and standards.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, participating in service development projects, and autonomously assessing and treating complex cases.
  • Support both inpatient and outpatient teams, including weekend work as needed, and provide clinical supervision, guiding Band 5 and support staff in delivering therapeutic care plans.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Physiotherapist with:

  • Experience of working in an acute hospital setting, with a minimum of 4 months experience of working on an ITU and Respiratory wards.
  • Respiratory/On Call competency and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Sound knowledge of the multi-disciplinary team within Acute Medicine, general surgery & respiratory medicine, and working knowledge of procedures and policies relating to line management.
