Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dedicated Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a skilled professional to work in our acute hospital's Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit, assessing and treating patients with complex presentations and multi-pathologies.

Main Duties
  1. Identify patients within the Emergency Department who may meet the admission criteria for CPFT services.
  2. Assess and treat patients referred by consultants in the Emergency Department.
  3. Document assessments and findings on SystmOne, Etrac, and Symphony.
  4. Liaise with consultants and senior nurses in the department.
  5. Liaise with social workers regarding patients who do not meet Intermediate Care admission criteria or who have obvious need for social care support.
  6. Support students, learners, and other team members.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate commitment to high-quality care and service provision.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good report writing.
  • Able to assess, plan and implement care.
  • Support Assistant Practitioners and learners in practice.
  • Standard keyboard skills and ability to communicate through IT using packages such as Word.
  • Time Management and prioritisation Skills.

Desirable

  • Understanding of clinical supervision.

Experience

  • Relevant post-graduate clinical experience in a variety of settings.
  • Clinical supervisor training and experience.

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent, BSc, MSc or Diploma entry level qualification into the Physiotherapy profession.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Documented evidence of own continuing professional development.
  • Willingness to undertake Fieldwork/Practice Educator qualification.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to kneel, bend & stoop, and work in cramped environments.
  • The ability to move and manoeuvre people and equipment.
  • The ability to manoeuvre patients using moving and handling aids.
  • The ability to travel round the workplace locality.

Knowledge and Understanding

  • Recognises the limits of own authority within the role.
  • Seeks and uses professional support appropriately.
