The role of Regional Conservation Board Representative is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the conservation efforts of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. As a representative, you will work closely with the Department of Conservation and regional Conservation Boards to promote the interests of Ngāi Tahu and ensure that their values are represented.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Ngāi Tahu values and culture, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to articulate the needs and aspirations of the iwi and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Representing Ngāi Tahu on regional Conservation Boards
  • Providing input and advice on conservation management strategies and plans
  • Working with the Department of Conservation to develop iwi initiatives and programs

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Ngāi Tahu values and culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Experience in conservation or related field
