CANTERBURY CHRIST CHURCH UNIVERSITY seeks a skilled professional to join its Governing Body as a critical friend, bringing advice, scrutiny, sound judgement and constructive challenge.
Company OverviewCanterbury Christ Church University has been a big part of the Kent community for over 60 years, providing education which makes a real and positive difference to people's lives. With 1,800 staff, the University offers a wide range of programmes to its 26,000 students, meeting the business and employment needs of regional employers and beyond.
The RoleWe are seeking two Governors to act as a critical friend, bring advice, scrutiny, sound judgement and constructive challenge to the Governing Body and the Executive team. The roles will commence on 1 August 2025 and each will be for an initial term of office of four years, which can be renewed at the discretion of the Board.
Key Responsibilities- Determine the educational character and mission of the University
- Oversight of the University's activities
- Bring advice, scrutiny, sound judgement and constructive challenge to the Governing Body and the Executive team
- Act as a critical friend to the University
