Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu is seeking a skilled representative to join its Regional Conservation Boards. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in developing conservation management strategies and plans for national parks within your jurisdiction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Ngai Tahu values and conservation principles. They will be able to articulate and promote these values effectively, ensuring that the Ngai Tahu perspective is represented on the board.

The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Reasonable expenses for travel, accommodation, and meals will be reimbursed by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and promote a Māori customary approach to conservation.
  • Collaborate with iwi initiatives to integrate into the Department's programs.
  • Participate in regular board meetings, field trips, and inspection visits.

Nomination Process: Nomination applications are currently open. Papatipu Rūnanga are eligible to nominate for each regional Conservation Board.
