About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Sales and Operations to join our team at MAC (Midlands Arts Centre). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving income generation from events hire, managing the Sales Team, and working closely with colleagues across the organisation to balance venue sales with the needs of MAC's primary purpose as an arts venue.

This is a commercially and entrepreneurially minded role, requiring the ability to identify new event sales opportunities while being sensitive to the primary needs of MAC and its arts programme. The ideal candidate will have strong sales and business development experience, with a proven track record of successful event management and operational delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Sales Team responsible for generating and converting enquiries and liaising with customers to confirm event details.
  • Championing excellent customer service and exceeding customer expectations by providing the link between the Event Sales and Event Delivery teams.
  • Working with the Marketing and Communications team to deliver the Event Sales marketing plan to attract new opportunities supported by high-quality photographic and digital assets.
  • Developing training plans and objectives for the Sales Team, focusing particularly on Service, Sales, and data.

The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
