South West London & St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust seeks a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to fill the role of Lead Eating Disorders Clinical Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality safe nursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.

The position involves taking clinical responsibility for clients suffering from eating disorders, providing specialist clinical nursing care under supervision, conducting new patient assessments, and being instrumental in involving clients in planning and evaluating their treatment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively liaise with other services or professionals as necessary.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that offers opportunities for professional development and growth. As a senior nurse working within the South London Mental Health and Community Partnership, you are expected to encourage and foster collaborative and cross-organisational working.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be around £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. A Master's degree is desirable but not essential, as long as you possess a strong foundation in research-based reflective practice and evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking clinical responsibility for clients suffering from eating disorders
  • Providing specialist clinical nursing care under supervision
  • Conducting new patient assessments and being instrumental in involving clients in planning and evaluating their treatment
  • Liaising with other services or professionals as necessary

Requirements:

  • Registered Adult Nurse and/or Registered Mental Health Nurse and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Understanding of Care Co-ordination under CPA
  • Experience of working in the community
  • Awareness/knowledge of the issues surrounding social inclusion for mental health service users

Working Environment:

The position is based at Springfield University Hospital, Tooting, SW17 0DJ. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care to clients suffering from eating disorders.
