Biomedical Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Microbiology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for processing clinical specimens for microbiological testing and interpreting the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and validate the day-to-day technical activities of a section of the laboratory.
- Authorise reports and contribute to quality management activities such as audits and competency assessments.
- Participate in the training of technical, scientific, and medical staff.
- Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to deliver a high level of service quality.
- Rotate throughout the Microbiology department and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease. Requirements- HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist with a minimum of one year's experience working in a diagnostic Microbiology lab.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- High degree of self-motivation and flexibility, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong IT skills, with the ability to use laboratory information systems and other software applications.
This is a full-time position, working core hours from 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. You will also be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis. You will participate in the Microbiology on-call service and any in-house shift system as required.
