Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Microbiology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for processing clinical specimens for microbiological testing and interpreting the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process clinical specimens for microbiological testing
  • Interpret the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality management activities, including audits and competency assessments
  • Contribute to the training of technical, scientific, and medical staff
Requirements
  • HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist
  • Minimum one year experience working in a diagnostic Microbiology lab
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and on-call
