Job Opportunity in Microbiology
We are seeking an HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Microbiology team at the Royal Devon Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing clinical specimens for microbiological testing, interpreting the results, and delivering a high level of service quality.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year's experience working in a diagnostic Microbiology lab and will be able to work autonomously, with strong IT, communication, and organisational skills. You will rotate throughout the Microbiology department and be required to work under pressure as part of a small, busy team.
Responsibilities
- Process clinical specimens for microbiological testing
- Interpret the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes
- Work autonomously as part of a small team
- Contribute towards the training of technical, scientific, and medical staff
Working Arrangements
The core hours for this role are from 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays worked on a rotational basis. The post also requires participation in the Microbiology on-call service and any in-house shift system if service requires.
