Job Title: Biomedical Scientist - Clinical Microbiology

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Microbiology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing clinical specimens for microbiological testing and interpreting the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be part of a small, busy team undertaking clinical technical investigations for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease. You will be required to work under pressure and as part of a team, with a high degree of autonomy and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process clinical specimens for microbiological testing
  • Interpret the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes
  • Work under pressure and as part of a team
  • Have a high degree of autonomy and decision-making skills
  • Contribute to the training of technical, scientific, and medical staff
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist with a minimum of one year's experience working in a diagnostic Microbiology lab. You will also need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a flexible attitude towards work.
