Job Title: Biomedical Scientist - Clinical Microbiology

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Microbiology team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing clinical specimens for microbiological testing and interpreting the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process clinical specimens for microbiological testing
  • Interpret the results of laboratory tests and diagnostic processes
  • Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure high-quality results
  • Participate in quality management activities, including audits and competency assessments
  • Contribute to the training of technical, scientific, and medical staff
Requirements:
  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Minimum one year of experience working in a diagnostic microbiology lab
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work a rotational shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays
