We are currently recruiting for Consumer Credit Complaints Investigators to join our client, the Financial Ombudsman Service, the organisation that settles individual disputes between financial businesses and their customers.

About the Role

This is a home-based assignment that requires you to investigate both sides of a dispute and make a fair and reasonable decision on the outcome. You'll begin your assignment by joining our internal training programme, conducted remotely, to ensure we are setting you up for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate complaints and disputes related to consumer credit
  • Make fair and reasonable decisions on the outcome of disputes
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team to resolve disputes
  • Manage conflicting deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of resolving complaints and disputes
  • Knowledge of the consumer credit industry
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle customer enquiries and remain composed under pressure
  • Experience managing conflicting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively

Industry Specialization

This role will specialize in consumer credit (lending), focusing on areas such as personal and payday loans, motor finance, irresponsible lending, and more.
