Senior Family Support Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Family Support Worker to join our team in Redbridge. This role is ideal for experienced professionals looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the Children with Disabilities Project. They will work closely with families and relevant stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children with disabilities.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Undertaking and monitoring reviews of children with disabilities to minimize the effects of their disability and facilitate them remaining within their own family unit.
  2. Identifying child protection issues and referring these to Senior Practitioners or Team Manager as necessary.
  3. Completing Transition Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, and Care and Support Plans of young people to support their transition to adulthood.
  4. Developing strong networks between Health, Education, Connexions, Adult and Children's Social Services to ensure comprehensive support for young people.
  5. Completing Continuing Health Care Checklist for appropriate young people to identify their ongoing healthcare needs.

  • A strong background in social care, preferably with experience working with children with disabilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

We offer a competitive salary of £38,250 - £40,500 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
