Senior Clinical Fellow in Neurosurgery

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high level of clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of clinicians and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities- Support inpatient and outpatient cranial and spinal services at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
- Play a critical role in delivering the on-call regional service for Hull and the Yorkshire & Humber region.
- Contribute to the established multidisciplinary team services provided as part of quality clinical indicators.
- Work as part of a 1:12 work schedule rota, including allocation of theatres, clinics, multidisciplinary team attendance, and ward clinical duties.
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the unit, managing and leading medical/surgical teams.

Person Specification- Professional Registration:
- Full Registration with the General Medical Council
- Qualifications and Training:
- Part 1 or complete postgraduate qualification in Neurosurgery
- Desirable: Postgraduate degree (MD, PhD) or postgraduate qualification in Education
- Clinical Experience:
- Ability to offer sound clinical opinion on a range of acute medical conditions
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Management and Administration Experience:
- Ability to manage and lead medical/surgical teams
- Ability to lead on the smooth and efficient running of the unit
- Ability to organise, prioritise, and manage a high-intensity workload
- Teaching, Audit, and Research:
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff
- Commitment to formal and informal teaching of medical staff, Allied Health Professionals, and medical students
- Evidence of participation in audit
- Ability to extrapolate clinical research evidence to care for individual patients
- Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work flexibly in a changing health service
- Excellent manner with patients, being sensitive to their needs and fears
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, General Practitioners, nurses, and other health professionals
- Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional, and national levels
