The Northgate Medical Practice is seeking a skilled and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our primary healthcare team. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical services to our patients, working closely with our primary care team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care, including management of diabetic patients, respiratory management, and wound care.
- Conduct new patient medicals, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests as required.
- Provide travel clinic services, including vaccinations and travel advice.
- Perform ECGs, peak flow readings, and spirometry as needed.
- Conduct venepuncture and other blood tests.
- Manage hypertension and other chronic conditions.
- Perform ear syringing and other minor procedures.
- Administer routine immunizations and childhood vaccinations.
- Request pathology tests and other diagnostic services as required.
- Participate in administrative systems and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with senior nurses and GPs to ensure seamless patient care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to infection control and health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices.

The Practice Nurse will have access to confidential patient information and must adhere to our confidentiality and data protection policies at all times.

The Practice Nurse will be responsible for implementing and leading on health and safety initiatives, including infection control, cleanliness, and risk management.
