Special Needs Education Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Education Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist day school in Newbury. As a Special Needs Education Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teachers and therapists in delivering the curriculum and meeting the individual needs of the pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teachers and therapists in delivering the curriculum and meeting the individual needs of the pupils.
  • Work with small groups or one-to-one, depending on the needs of the pupils.
  • Assist with the pastoral care and behaviour management of the pupils, as well as supporting their social and emotional development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to your work.
